Mr and Mrs M. C. Cowlishaw, Melbourne, are staying at the Royal Hotel

Lady Roberts arrived from the north this morning. Mr and Mrs A. Blakeley are Wellington visitors to Christchurch. Airs J. Paterson, Dunedin, is „ the guest of Airs Peter Wood, Papanui Road.

Aliss Janet Stevenson, Fendalton, is the guest of Airs Herbert Acton-Adams, “Tipapa.” Airs J. C. Newton and Aliss Norah Newton, Aferivale Lane, have returned from a visit to Airs Harman Reeves, Dunedin.

Aliss AI. Shaw, Northern Ireland, is the guest of Airs F. Alorrow, Burnside Road, Fendalton. Air and Airs H. J. Butler, Christchurch, who returned to New Zealand from England by the Ruahine, arrived in Christchurch on Thursday. Aliss Carol West-Watson, who is visiting England, recently spent a week-end with Aliss Alolly Carrington and Dean Carrington, at their residence, “Red House,” Ilildersham, Cambridge.

Recent arrivals at the Hotel Federal include:—Alessrs L. Rossiter, A. Waterworth, A. Webster (Wellington), B. K. Putnik (Parnassus), Air and Airs O. E. Dormer (Auckland) and Air and Airs Gilpin (Hokitika). Air A. E. Ansell, AI.P., Airs Anseil and Aliss Eileen Ansell (Chalmers) will arrive in Christchurch on Alonday and will be the guests of Aliss D. Harman, Hawford Road, Opawa. They will leave for the north on Tuesday to be present at the opening of Parliament. Aliss Mary R. Al’Kenzie. of Auckland, has arrived in England after spending some time in Australia. Aliss Alackenzie, who is a member of “The Little Theatre,” “The Everyman Repertory Club” and “the Grafton Shakespeare Dramatic Club” has gone to the Old Country to study dramatic art.. She intends visiting the Continent before returning to the Dominion.

Aliss Dorothy Horne, of Napier, who has been spending some time with friends in Ireland, recently took the principal part in Gilbert and Sullivan’s “The Yeoman of the Guard,” played by the Armagh Amateur Operatic Society, and scored a great success. Her beautiful voice and splendid acting were so such commented upon in the local Press that the Dublin Gilbert and Sullivan Operatic Society immediately offered Miss Horne a contract which she is at present considering. Airs Horne and Aliss Alary Horne, who are in London, have completely recovered from their indisposition and are contemplating the possibility of a trip to New Zealand in the near future, writes the “Times” correspondent.
