BRITAIN IN NEED OF CONSTRUCTIVE PLAN.
LONDON, June 18. Commenting on the number of unemployed, which totals 2,602,895, at a time when it should show a seasonal improvement, “The Times” says:— “ There is still no sign that the Government has any constructive policy: to help industry and provide work and wages. There is still no sign that it has taken to heart the lessons of the crisis in Australia.” The editorial strongly urges the adoption of the principle of co-opera-tion, and advocates that groups of firms who maintain selling organisations overseas should recognise that the idea that the dominions should devote themselves exclusively to the production of food and raw material is out of date.
