TIMARU MAN TOOK KEROSENE BY MISTAKE.

FACES THEFT CHARGE IN MAGISTRATE’S COURT

(Special to the “ Star.”) TIMARU, June 18. Because a man had owed him £9 10s for a long period, Donald Reuben Cooksley, thirty-six, a labourer, thought that he was justified in helping himself to tins of petrol stacked on the wharf, which he thought belonged to this debtor. However, the petrol turned out to be kerosene and the property of another man, James Bruce Cordiner. Cooksley appeared in Court to-day to face a charge of theft. He admitted the facts as above, and was ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within twelve months.
