OBITUARY.
DR G. GOSSET. News was received at Sumner last night of the death of Dr G. Gosset, on May 10, at Watlington Hospital, England. Dr Gosset, with Mrs Gosset and their son, Master Hilgrave Gosset, left Sumner, where they had resided for about twenty years, early last December. After spending Christmas with Dr Gosset’s daughter, Mrs S. Wiggins, of Nelson, they left for'England early in the New Year, on a pleasure trip. At Leeston, where he practised for many years, Dr Gosset took an active interest in Freemasonry and became a Past Master of Lodge Waihora. He was closely associated with the affairs of the Ellesmere Agricultural and Pastoral Association.. On his retirement to Sumner, about 1910, he became an active member of the Croquet, the Golf and the Sumner Bowling Clubs. He was a foundation member and past-president of the Bowling Club, a past-president’and life member of the Croquet Club and a life member of the Richmond Hill Golf Club. Dr Gosset was twice married, first to Miss Charlewood, daughter of Admiral Charlewood. His second wife was Miss Rennie, daughter of the late Mr John Rennie, of Leeston, "who survives him.
