The ferry steamer Maheno had a stormy, passage across Coc.k Strait on Saturday night. On leaving Wellington the vessel ran into strong southerly weather and heavy seas. As she neared Lyttelton conditions improved, and fine weather prevailed. Berthing was completed at 9.25 a.m., two hours late.
