RACE FOR YOUNG PIGEONS CONDUCTED.

The Christchurch Racing Pigeon Society conducted a young bird race from Studholrne Junction cn Saturday last. The stationmaster liberated 147 birds, representing seventeen owners, in an easterly breeze. The winning bird, Atlast, owned by Mr .T. Hitchings. flew the distance of 112 miles 66 yards air line in 3hr 37min 19sec. The following were the velocities: — . Yds. per min. J. Goslin’s Bluey 817 •T. Hitchings won all the nominated bird prizes. Junior Section. The junior section of the Christchurch Racing Pigeon Society flew a race from Studholrne Junction in conjunction with the senior section.
