DEATH OF PASSENGER ON TRAM IN THE CITY.
The discovery that a male passenger • >n a Linwood tram was dead caused a large crowd to gather in the south-east corner of Cathedral Square between midday and 12.30 p.m. to-day. The man was sitting on a seat in the tram grasping a walking stick, and apparently asleep, but a closer examination showed that he was dead. The body was laid on a seat in the Square until the ambulance arrived and took it away. The man had with him a leather suitcase bearing the name Sams. lie was later identified as W. C. Sams, who resided' at 39, Halton Street, Papanui. No inquest will be necessar}'.
