BRIGADE STOPS SPREAD OF FIRE AT SYDENHAM.
Fire broke out in a back bedroom in a house at 127. SoutHampton Street Sydenham, at 7.30 last evening. The dwelling is owned and occupied by Mr J. Matthews. The room—a lean-to—and its contents were destroyed, but the arrival of the Central Fire Brigade prevented the spread of the fire. There was no insurance on the contents of the room, but the house is insured in the National Office.
