THE BOTTOM LIP REVEALS SECRETS.
REMARKABLE CLAIM BY GERMAN PROFESSOR.
(United Press Assn. —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received March 16, 1.30 p.m.) BERLIN, March 15. Telling the character, age and profession from the bottom lip is the discovery of Professor Bottman, dermatologist at Heidelberg University. He claims that by the aid of a special type of microscope, he has invented a new science, and that he can read with extraordinary exactitude the secrets of the capillaries in the lips. Professor Bottman declared that research discloses that any change in the facial expression affects the bottom lip, in which all the inherited and acquired qualifications are concentrated. A bored expression is accompanied by empty, insignificant capillaries, whereas in the lips of orators, actors and vocalists they are rich in form. He proposes to apply the method to lunatic asylums and hospitals for hereditary research, particularly in twins. He will also dispatch expeditions to examine primitive races.— “ Times ” cable.
