SAILING AND POWER BOATING CLUB EVENT.
OPEN YACHT RACE HELD ON LYTTELTON HARBOUR
The Canterbury Yacht and Motor-boat Club held an open sailing race on Saturday on Lyttelton Harbour, in a light north-easterly breeze. The race resulted:— Collen (F. Forman), 4hr 48min 15sec 1 Irene (S. Toomey), 4hr 4 9min 50sec 2 Usher (T. Hobbs), 4hr 53min 20sec 3 Hakari (I. Newton), 4hr 54min lOsec 4 PLEASANT POINT CLUB. The final race for the Johns Cup and the third race of the Ostler Cup series were sailed during the week-end by the Pleasant Point Yacht Club over the usual four-mile course. The wind was a light easterly and the tide was flooding. Results:— Johns Cup. Valmal, scr (H. G. Ostler) . 1 Blue Bird, 3!min (J. M’Kessar) .... 2 Trixie P., 4min (A. Pointer) 3 Lairee 21min (A. Dodd), Echo llmin (W. Clancy), Eureka 3niin (E. Moody) and Aloha 4min (J. Potts) also started. Ostler Cup. Bluebird. 3min (J. M’Kessar) 1 Echo, scr (W. Clancy) 2 The Toff, 4min <B. Mellor) 3 Co.o-ee Smin (E. Tyson), Lainel Smin (A. Dodd), Trixie P. 4min (A. Pointer) and Grayling 4 min (J. Harris) also started.
