WHEAT GROWER ASKS FOR REASONABLE TREATMENT
WELLINGTON. March 14. “ The wheat farmers recognise that they will have to share in the reductions being made, and there will be no resistance to any reasonable treatment as far as the wheat duties are concerned,” said Mr D. Jones (Reform, Mid-Canterbury) in the House yesterday. Mr Jones expressed the hope that thi Prime Minister would shortly make a definite statement as to the Government’s attitude concerning the sliding scale. It was high time the farmer knew what would occur regarding the wheat crop 'before next season.
