LABOUR NOMINEES FOR THE ELECTIONS.

MR D. G. SULLIVAN TO STAND FOR MAYORALTY. The Labour candidates for the coming municipal election were announced at a meeting of the Labour Representation Committee last evening as follow : Mayoralty. Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P., Council. *The Rev J. K. Archer. Mr J. S. Barnett. *Mr T. Butterfield. Mr M. R. Johnson. *Mrs E. R. M’Combs. Mr J. M’Combs, M.P. Mr R. M. Macfarlane. “Mr E. Parlane. Mr F. M. Robson. Mr J. W. Roberts. Mr E. Snow. Mr G. T. Thurston. Twelve candidates only have been nominated. Those marked with an asterisk ate members of the present council. Messrs Macfarlane, Roberts, Robson and M’Combs, have sat on former councils. Hospital Board. All city seats on the Hospital Board will be contested, the nominees being as follow, an asterisk denoting sitting members:— The Rev J. K. Archer. *Mr J. S. Barnett. *Mrs T. Green. Mr R. M. Macfarlane. Mr G. Manning. *Mrs E. R. M’Combs. Mr A. H. Scales, Mr G. T. Thurston. Harbour Board. *Mr H. T. Armstrong, M.P. *Mr E. J. Howard, M.P. Mr G. T. Thurston. * Sitting members. CITIZENS’ ASSOCIATION. The Citizens’ Association’s nominee for the Mayoralty is Mr William Hayward, who unsuccessfully opposed the Rev J. K. Archer at the election two years ago, being beaten by only 424 votes. The association has not yet taken any steps in regard to the selection of candidates for the City Council, Hospital Board and Harbour Board, but a meeting to consider the matter is likely to be held at an early date.
