ELEVEN MACHINES PASS OVER BRAZILIAN ISLAND.

Six ’planes of the Italian transAtlantic fleet passed this island, 125 miles from the mainland, at 2.35 this afternoon. Three more ’planes passed a few minutes later. The tenth and eleventh ’planes followed nearly an hour after the first group. The National Telegraph Dispatch of Rio de Janeiro says that one of the Italian 'planes is down owing to motor trouble at sea off San Pedro, in the San Paulo Islands. A message from St Paul’s Rocks says that it has been taken in tow by an Italian cruiser. MACHINES LAND AT NATAL, IN BRAZIL. (Received January 7, 11.40 a.m.) NATAL (Brazil), January 6. Ten of the Italian ’planes landed at Natal Harbour this afternoon, the first four completing the flight from Bolama, West Africa, in 17 hours 15 minutes. The flight began on December 17. The ’planes encountered bad weather in the Mediterranean, and were delayed for a day. They proceeded to Africa, from where they hopped off for Brazil, via the Canary Islands.
