Dishonest Hawkers.

To the Editor. Dear Sir,—l had a man out our way hawking apples in a bucket, 2s for 81b. I decided to try a bucket so I weighed the bucket in front of him, and I found there was l£lb short. He then remarked he would return with the balance. He never came back, nor do I ever expect him to come this way, but I sincerely hope I’m the last one they will take down in Christchurch. In fact these hawkers should have a license. Anyhow this kind of thing ought to be stopped.—l am, etc., R. S. BRYAN.
