BRITAIN GETS LARGE ORDER FOR ’PLANES.
BELGIUM WILL SPEND £300,000 IN ENGLAND.
(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) RUGBY, January 4. The Belgian Government has confirmed a large order which it recently gave for British two-seater tighter aeroplanes of the latest type which are intended for the re-equipment of the three air regiments of the Belgian Army. The contract, which was obtained in competition with foreign aircraft manufacturers, provides for delivery by the Fairey Aviation Company of a number of high speed “ Fox ” biplanes. This follows rapidly upon an order which was placed by the Belgian Government with the same company for forty-five single-seater aircraft. The value of the two orders considerably exceeds £300,000.
