“ANIMAL CRACKERS" IS PERFECT RIOT OF FUN.
There is not a dull moment in “Animal Crackers,” the Paramount talking comedy which is now showing at the Regent Theatre. The fun waxes fast and furious and the antics of the four Marx brothers are extraordinary. Two shorts complete a very entertaining programme. “ YOUNG WOODLEY.” Preceded by a nation-wide censorship agitation following its initial rejection, “Young Woodley,” the sensatonal Brtish all-talking production from the Elstree studios, has been passed “for adults only,” and will be presented at the Regent on Saturday next. “The Empire News” says: “One of the finest pictures, of the psychological type, yet made at Elstree. Why it was banned is a mystery, and, if children under sixteen are excluded from its screening, they should be so from practically every other picture with a love story in it. There is nothing indecent or impure in the picture. It has an intensely pathetic side, and it is safe to say that the majority of sightseers leave the theatre at its termination with tears in their eyes.” The box plans will open on Thursday at The Bristol Piano Company.
