PUBLIC ARE NOT KEEN ON BURGLARY INSURANCE
Among the insurance companies operating in New Zealand, household burglary policies are not very largely issued. Only a few companies undertake insurance of this class, and all report that it is not greatly sought after by the public. The State Fire Office does not accept burguary insurance on houses, although its comprehensive motor-ear policy includes this risk as far as cars are concerned, The State Office is not empowered to accept burglary risks on houses. In larger countries, burglary insurance is a fairly substantial part of the business of some companies, but circumstances in New Zealand do not seem to warrant it. of insurance, but the business done was not large. With the comparatively smaller towns of New Zealand, a burglar would find it difficult to dispose of goods which he had stolen from a house. Very seldom is anything except money taken.
