“WE ONLY WANT TRUTH TO BE TOLD ”

MR PARKER MOLONEY ADDRESSES CANADIANS. (United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received January 6, 12.30 p.m.) VANCOUVER, January 5. Addressing a luncheon gathering of the Board of Trade and the Canadian Manufacturers’ Association to-day. Mr Parker Moloney said: “The most that I can say regarding the negotiations with Canada is that we have reached what I consider a highly satisfactory agreement, every viewpoint of the Canadians and Australians being considered. I will have to take the agreement back to Australia for ratification. I have no doubt that the result will be the reaching of a satisfactory agreement. It is not the intention of the Australian Government to embarrass, or to injure, any Canadian industry, but more to agree upon a pact that will be of mutual advantage. Just as in Australia we do not permit anyone to make deprecating remarks about Canada, we know you in Canada will protect Australia in this manner. All we desire in Australia is that the truth be told.” The Minister said that Australia, like other Governments, was caught in the world depression. “We have no doubt that we can pull through this like w* have other troubles.”
