HEAVY DROP IN TOTE RETURNS.

DECREASES AT ALL PRINCIPAL MEETINGS. Every racing and trotting meeting held in the Dominion during the holiday period, with the exception of the Reefton trots, showed a decreased totalisator turnover as compared with last season. The total decrease amounted to £306,000 10s, £232.596 10s being at race meetings and £73,404 at trotting fixtures. The Auckland Racing Club’s three-day meeting accounted for £69,878 of the total decrease. The following is a comparison of the receipts at the various meetings:—
