POLICE FIRE UPON RIOTOUS MOBS.
FURTHER DISTURBANCES OCCUR IN BOMBAY.

Nine were wounded when police fired on a riotous crowd in Bombay in connection with the Nationalist celebration of Independence Day. Sixty-two were injured as a result of police charges at Chowpathi and in other quarters of the city. Thirtythree police were injured by stones thrown by the mobs.
