TWO CONSTABLES KILLED IN N.S.W.
sensational tragedy AT BONDI JUNCTION. (United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received January 3,2 p.m.) SYDNEY, January 3. A sensational happening occurred this morning at Bondi Junction. A man named Kennedy, known as “ Waverley Bill,” entered a shop, pur chased goods and refused to pay. A shop attendant called Constable Allen, upon whose entry Kennedy drew a revolver and shot him dead. Kennedy then hurried out and made for home. A second constable, named Andrews, jumped from a passing tram and gave chase. When he reached Kennedy’s home Kennedy attacked him with a knife, inflicting stabs which proved fatal. Shortly after, a third constable, named Johnston, went to Kennedy's place, and in an altercation shot Txennedy, who is now in hospital in a dying condition. The police seized a great quantity of ammunition in Kennedy’s rooms.
