Clearings of the Sydney banks during 1930 totalled £893,158,894, compared with £1,043,324,613, in 1929, which constituted a record. LONDON PEODUCE MARKETS. Frozen meat—The market for wether mutton is depressed owing to the absence of demand. There is a moderate demand for ewes. There is only a poor demand for lamb. Lower prices are expected in the near future. The demand for beef is fair. Trade generally is affected by the holidays. Wethers, light 42d to 5Jd per lb, heavy 4id to 43d. Ewes, 3d to 3Zd per lb. Lambs, 2’s lOd to 10id per lb, 8 s lOd to 10id, 4’s lOd to 10id, seconds 9d tO Ox 2 blinds, 4£d to 5d per lb, fores 3Jd to 33d. Cow hinds, 4d to 4Jd per lb, fores 3d to 3 Jd. Quotations are: —North Island, 48561 b 4id, 56-641 b 43d, 64-721 b 4*d, 48-641 b 3 id.' New Zelaand beef—The market is unchanged. The demand is better. Puotations are:—New Zealand prime ox hinds s id, fores 4d. Argentine chilled hinds 6id, fores 3id. New Zealand pork—The market Is weaker. The demand was improved by the change in the price. Quotations are:—English porkers, 80-1001 b lOd, New Zealand porkers, 80-1001 b 7Jd, 1001201 b 6d. Australian lamb—The market is unchanged, and the demand is moderate. 28-361 b g.a.q. Bd, 36-421 b g.a.q. 7ld. 283Glb f.a.q. 63d. Australian mutton—The market is weaker. The demand is poor. 40-601 b g.a.q. 4d, 30-551 b f.a.q. 33d, ewes 3!d.
