U S. MARINES AMBUSHED BY NICARAGUAN BANDITS
(United Press Assn. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) MANAGUA (Nicaragua), January 1. Eight United States marines were killed and two were seriously wounded when they were ambushed by bandits, who are said to have been operating in a new offensive under the rebel leader, General Sandino. The marines have been fighting bandits almost weekly for months, but this is the first time for over a year that they have suffered heavy losses.
