MANY BIG CONTRACTS LET IN ENGLAND.

The Great Western Railway has undertaken a big programme of developments, including a £1,000,000 scheme for improving and enlarging Paddington Station and the construction of £1,200,000 worth of locomotives and rolling stock to be built at Swindon. The whole programme involves £8,500,000, and many different industries will benefit. New contracts, and extension of existing contracts, totalling about £2,000,000, have just been issued by the Central Electricity Board.
