TRAVIS AXWORTHY WINS BIG PRIZE AT ADDINGTON TROTS

The racing throughout was good, and was enjoyed by a large crowd. The weather was fine and the track in first class order. The results were:— • %

Our George led out of the straight, but Nor’-Wester headed him after going a furlong, while, at the end of three furlongs Sodium was in third place. There was no change in the order half a mile from home, where Happy Land and Morrison were next. Nor’-Wester led Our George into the straight, with Sodium, Happy Land and Morrison handy. Sodium shot out a furlong from the post and won by two lengths from Happy Land, who beat Nor’-Wester by a head, with Our George and Morrison close up. Steel All led out from Harvest Child and Sunny Bob, while Travis Axworthy. after a brilliant beginning, was in fourth place at the end of a furlong. These four were showing the way past the stand, with Great Logan and Avenger in close attendance. There was no change along the back, where Lindbergh, started to move up, joining Arikitoa behind the front bunch as they started on the last round. Three furlongs from home Great Logan joined Steel All in the lead, with Harvest Child, Sunny Bob and Travis Axworthy next. Travis Axworthy moved up on the outside at the home turn and he was alongside Great Logan in the lead when the straight was reached. In a great battle Travis Axworthy beat Great Logan by a head. Vendome, who come very fast over the last two furlongs, was two lengths away. Harvest Child was two lengths further back, with Erin s Fortune heading the others. 24 l-ssec, 4 min 27 2-ssec, 4mln 2Ssec. MIDDLETON HANDICAP (in harness). Baynut led Granite City. Lydia and Play wave along the back, and the order was unchanged at the end of a mile, where Hostess, Sonoma and Erin s Lynn were next. Erin’s Lynn then made a, fast run, joining Baynut in the lead when they started on the last round. Three furlongs from home Playwave ran up to the leaders, Hostess being just behind them at the entrance to the straight. Playwave then drew clear, and won easily by two lengths. In an exciting finish for the places Hostess heat Erin’s Lynn by a head, with Baynut anotheT head away. Times—4 min "34 2-ssec, 4min 33sec. 4min 32 l-Csec.
