At the wool sales 7749 bales wert offered, including 2337 bales of New Zealand wool. About 4070 bales were sold. There was a steady demand, and opening, rates were fully maintained. New Zealand lots sold as follows: Greasy cross-bred, Gwavas (top prie* 8£), average 6d. CUSTOMS RETURNS FOR MONTH SHOW DECREASE. .Thera was a drop of £33,5*6 1 Ss «d in the Customs revenue in Christchurch * or the month of November as compared with the figures for the corresponding peri< ?U aßt year. AUCKLAND, November 27 Proceedings at the. only call this morning were distinctly quiet, with little business offering. No sales wore made and in a number of cases buying prices were lower. The announcement of a reduced rate of dividend by the Bank of New South Wales directors caused shares to ease further, and with sellers at £3O, the best buyers stopped at £27 10s. Colonial Sugar were also easier with sellers at £32 15s. There were no offers for breweries 1 , and 4ft per cent Government stocks were again available at £99. Other Exchanges. Per Press Association.
