The Christchurch Free Ambulance have been kept occupied during the last twenty-four hours, three calls having been received for aid in minor accidents since last night. The New Brighton Municipal Band, with Mr J. A. Nuttall as conductor, will play a programme of music at Mairehau next to the hall to-morrow at 3 p.m. The Heathcote Valley school children held their annual picnic at Corsair Bay to-day. The Mt Pleasant School picnic was held at Diamond Harbour. The police were called out last week to the Railway Station to control our large fleet of taxis, which has been In great demand since we started in our branch garage opposite the station, where you can get a Gold Band Taxi at any hour. Noble, will play a programme of popular music at “ The Pines,” Ivairaki Beach, at 3 p.m. to-morrow afternoon. A collection will be taken in aid of contest funds.
