The appeal organised by Staff-Captain Dry, manager of the Addington Salvation Army Men’s Home, assisted by officers and soldiers from the surrounding corps, held yesterday, met with a good response. Of the 2000 buttons distributed amongst the collectors 1700 were sold, realising £lOl 4s 3d. At the present time over 400 meals a day sffe being served to the men. It is calculated that this amount will provide meals for a fortnight.
