"HALF WAY TO HEAVEN” STARS CHARLES ROGERS.

“Half Way to Heaven,” the principal attraction at the Crystal Palace Theatre this week, has a particularly strong cast headed by Charles (Buddy) Rogers, Jean Arthur and Paul Lukas. The supporting programme has been carefully chosen. “ SONG OX* THE FX.AUIE.” Produced entirely in technicolour, First National and Vitaphone’s brilliant musical dramatic romance, “ Song of the Flame,” will be presented at Crystal Palace on Monday next. In tlxe matter of story, acting and background, “ Song of the Flame ” stands out as a notable achievement. Four plasters in the large cast deserve particular mention because of their fine characterisations and substantial contributions to the vocal sequences in the picture. They are Bernice Claire, the prima donna; Alexander Gray, who plays opposite her; Noah Beery in an intensely dramatic portrayal of a leader of the revolution depicted in the production; and Alice Gentle, a foremost operatic star. Against the panoramic background of a national revolt, a simple, appealing love story and a thrilling human drama are developed. The box plans are now open at The Bristol Piano Company.
