ADVERTISEMENTS AND NEWS OF NOV. 28, TB7O. Commercial.—The wool sale commenced on October 27; stocks. 200,000 bales. There was a large attendance of home buyers, but the Continent was' poorly represented. There was a fair competition, and last closing rates were realised, but fine wools were lower. n % Late Telegrams.—Hammond, an e» raped prisoner, was captured at three clock on Saturday morning, 21 miles from Napier, by Orderly Mottley. Another prisoner, named Dureen, was with him, but escaped. A house in Tarunnui bush was broken into last night, and a saddle was stolen from a stable at W aipukuru. Both robberies •.vert; evidently committed by the same party. Dureen is suspected. When Hammond was captured both prisoners ■ ere smoking meerschaum pipes, evidently the spoil of the Havelock robber*- Nothing has been heard of William?. Yesterday some boys found a carbine and three spades, which had been thrown into the water bv the prisoners the same day they escaped.
