STREET APPEAL FOR ADDINGTON MEN’S HOME.
An appeal, organised by Staff-Captain Dn*. manager of the Addington Salvation Army Men’s Home, assisted by officers and soldiers from the surrounding corps, was held to-day. Stationed at various vantage points about the city, Salvation Army lassies were selling “Oscar Garden” buttons in place of the usual badges. The collection was organised to raise funds to meet the expense incurred at the Addington Men’s Home, where a large number of unemployed men are given free accommodation and meals. The effort met with a good response.
