OBITUARY.
MRS H. H. LOUGHNAN. | The many friends of Mrs H. H. Loughnan and her family will learn with regret of her death this morning. I Mrs Loughnan, who has been ill for some months past, had gradually bei c ne weaker during the last few ' weeks. This morning she passed peacefully away. Mrs Loughnan was a daughter of the late Adam Burnes, _ who at one time was managing director of the Bank of New Zealand. .Mrs Loughnan was born in Melbourne in 1868, and in the early years of her life travelled with her parents in Europe. . Her I father was appointed Bank Director I upon the family coming to New Zea- | land. The late Mrs Loughnan was eduI' cated at the Sacred* Heart Convent in Timaru, and was married in 1896 to | Mr 11. H. Loughnan. She was a writer I of ability and a well-known musical composer. Her public activities inI eluded the organisation of concerts for the soldiers during the war, and later for such charitable purposes as the I relief of unemployment. | She is survived by her husband and I two sons, Mr B.
