TOCH LEAGUE OF WOMEN HELPERS HOLD MEETING
The annual meeting of the Toe II League of Women Helpers was held at Toe II Headquarters, 70, Chester Street. Mrs Owen Williams presided over a good attendance of members. Padre Williams reported that a letter had been received from headquarters, London, and from the Dominion Executive, granting official recognition to the Christchtirch group of the League of Women Helpers, It was decided to apply to headquarters for the Rushlight to which the group was entitled, now that it had obtained official recognition. The secretary', Miss’ F. L. Cooper, read a resume of the work of the league since its inception, showing that the members had been able in many ways to be of service to the poor, aged, sick and unfortunate, and that there was every prospect of there being a wider sphere for -usefulness during the coming year. The statement ol receipts and expenditure showed a small credit balance. It was decided that the closing meeting of the y'ear should take the form of a social gathering, and that each member bring a gift of a toy for a poor child. Miss Mulvany Gray gave an interesting talk on her work in Salonika, whilst a member of the Scottish Women’s Hospital unit during the war.
