CROWD SEES CAPTURE OF BIG EEL IN AVON.
The capturing. of an eel weighing 291 b, and measuring about five feet in length, drew a crowd of over a hundred people to near the Bridge of Remembrance this morning. The big fish was followed in a boat by three men, one of whom gaffed it and threw it on to the bank, amid approving cheers from the gathering. The eel was taken into a fishmonger’s shop nearby, and turned the scoles at 291 b.
