Dear Sir,—l should be greatly obliged if you or some of your motoring correspondents could answer me the following queries; (1) The name of the most expensive car on the market (standard model). (2) The name of the most expensive English car (standard model). _ (3) The name of the most expensive American car (standard model). (4) The fastest standard English car. (5) The fastest standard American car. (6) The fastest racing car on the market (excepting specially built cars such as the Golden Arrow). (7) The price of the most expensive car.—l am, etc., O. As nearly as motoring publications can give them, the answers to your questions are as follows: (1) Rolls Royce (£2500 to £3300, chassis alone): (2) Rolls Royce: (3) Duesenberg (£2125 for chassis in America): (4) Supercharged Bentley (used in au European Tourist Trophy races); (5) Duesenberg: (6) Mercedes Benz (Germany): (7) £3300 for Rolls Royce largest chassis.—Ed. “ Star."
