MANY CANDIDATES IN MUSIC EXAMINATIONS.
The examinations held by the Roval Academy of Music, which commenced to-day, were well attended. Over four hundred candidates are sitting for the practical examinations, which are being conducted under Dr Beachcroft, who has from the West Coast for that purpose. The number of candidates is greater this year in Christchurch than for some years past, and this increase seems to be general throughout New Zealand. Th 6 examinations are being held in the Durham Street Schoolroom and will end on December 13.
