WEDDINGS.

Crooks—Manson. Many friends gathered recently at the Presbyterian Church, Rangiora, for the marriage, celebrated by the Rev Mr Hutchison, of Gladys Meta, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. R Manson, to James, second son of Mr David Crooks, Barrow-on-Furness, England. Mr Gibbs Jordan was organist. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a long-sleeved basqued frock of parchment-tinted lace over ivory satin, simply made with straight, full skirt falling ankle-length. Delicately embroidered in silk, her tulle veil was arranged from a Richelieu cap with orange blossom buds across the back. A faint touch of pink showed in her bouquet. The bridesmaids were Miss Myra Manson, sister of the bride, and Miss Edna Dawson, whose graceful frocks of floral chiffonette were made alike in shades of orange and lemon. Dainty wide-brimmed lace hats and richly-tinted posies completed their attractive toilettes. The two little flower girls, twin daughters of Mr R. Crooks, Fernside, were quaintly dressed in peach-coloured Empire frocks, worn ankle-length, with three frills at the hem-line and inset with puff sleeves. Poke bonnets to match the frocks were worn, and each carried a posy of freesias. Mr David Crooks was best man, and Mr G. Laws was groomsman. Following the ceremony, the guests were received at the Masonic Hall by the bride’s mother, who wore a smart black satin frock relieved with white, and a black and white hat. Her posy was of Iceland poppies and fern. When the bride and bridegroom left for their wedding tour the former was wearing an attractive almond-green bolero frock with kilted flounces, and a coat of flecked tweed to match. Her hat was of green and beige lace straw. Fielden—Glover. The wedding was celebrated at St James’s Church, Lower Hutt, on Tuesday afternoon, of Tui, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs T. D. Glover, and William Crossley, only son of Mr and Mrs W. Fielden, of Musselburgh, Dunedin. The Ven Archdeacon Hansell performed the ceremony, and Miss Harte was at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a shell-pink georgette frock with ankle-length skirt and fitting corsage. Her pale pink tulle veil, which was arranged in mob-cap style, was encircled with orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of pink and white roses, carnations, sweet peas and maidenhair fern. Miss Molly Glover attended her sister as bridesmaid, wearing a green and amber floral georgette frock, made with uneven hem-line, and a hat to tone. Autumn-tinted flowers were used to form her bouquet.
