BRIDES ELECT HONOURED. Misses Thelma Grant and Rhona Cummings were joint hostesses at a delightful bathVoom evening held recently in the Bowden Studio of Dancing, Worcester Street, in honour of Miss Veda Ramsay, whose marriage will take place shortly. The evening was spent in dancing and novelties. The Monte Carlo and lucky-spot dances were won by Gwen Collins and W. Thompson, Kitty Cole and K. Hardy, Rhona Cummings and C. G. Collins. Among those present were:—Mr and Mrs J. Gibson, Misses Veda Ramsay, Kath Rogers, Marie Fraser, Grace Stothers, Kitty Cole, Doris and Ethel Lvsaght, Heather Rutter, Gwen Collins, Dot Chivers, Eileen Murphy, Peggy Clegg, Rhona Cummings and Thelma Grant. Messrs C. M. Kingsford, K. Hardy, C. G. Collins, A. Dynes, J. Gaskin, Don Smith, F. Dickens, B. Dini, W. Topp, W. Thompson, A. W. Roberts, D. Thornton. Bruce Nesbit, F. Pithy and Alan Moore. In honour of the approaching marriage of Miss Enid Gay a jolly evening was recently spent at the home of Mr and Mrs Sibley, Albert Terrace, St Martins. Mrs Sibley and Mrs Duckmanton were the hostesses. The guest of honour received a number of articles for her kitchen. Competitions and games were enjoyed by the guests. Hockey Dance.

The annual dance of the New Brighton Ladies’ Hockey Club was held in the Pier Hall on Saturday evening. During the evening the Te Rangitira junior championship cup was presented by the president of the Canterbury Ladies’ Hockey Association . (Mr H. Throp) to the captain, Miss A. Moses. The duties of M.C. were carried out by Messrs A. Hughes and B. Warren. A Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss Sylvia Boon and Mr T. Redding. A “lucky spot” dance by Miss Mavis Burgess and Mr E. Mahan, and the snowball by Miss Hazel Ward.
