Knight, Racecourse Hill, who have been visiting Sydney,-will arrive in Christchurch tomorrow morning.

Wilkinson, Fendalton Road, who has been visiting in Dunedin. will arrive in Christchurch this Dr and Mrs Lascelles arrived in Wellington yesterday by the Makura from San Francisco, and are expected in Christchurch shortly.

Miss Meg Russell, Auckland, who has been visiting friends in the South Island, is at present the guest of Mrs W. E. Fussell, Gladstone Terrace, Wellington.

Mr and Mrs C. P. Agar, Colombo Street North, left for Mount Cook today, where Mr Agar will attend the conference of the Associated Chambers of Commerce. Princess Elizabeth is delighted with a present which her grandmother, Lady Strathmore, has just made her, says an English writer. It is a little chair which belonged to the Duchess of York in her childhood, a carved affair of Swiss pine, gaily painted with Alps and skipping chamois. When the Princess sits down, from somewhere inside the chair comes a merry little tune, followed by tinkling bells and the notes of an Alpine horn.
