MARIST ATHLETIC CLUB HAS ANNUAL MEETING.
At the third annual meeting 1 of the Alarist Amateur Athletic Club, Mr J. H. Murphy presided over a fair attendance of members. The annual report showed that although _ the number of runners taking * n ,. acfc i ve part in the sport was still rather small the season had been quite satisfactory. Among the cycling members T. E. O’Brien had performed consistently, and had represented Canterat the New Zealand championships at Wanganui. The outstanding runner had been J. 11. Murphy, who. from the scratch mark, had been putting up some fine runs during the year. At the recent Canterbury championships the club had secured places in the 220yds, 440yds and high Jump championships, being represented in these events by .1. H. Murphy, and M_ I-J. Mullany respectively. The election of ; officers for 1930-51 resulted; Chairman, Mr ,T. H- Murphy: vice-chairman, Mr R. Poff; secretary and treasurer, Mr J.
