“A Night with the Wahines and Tamahines” reads the quaintly phrased invitation issued by the president of the Savage Club for the annual ladies’ night, to be held in the Art Gallery on Saturday', August 23. Invitations have been issued by the combined Hoover staff of the Municipal Electricity Department and the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association to their annual dance, to be held at the Winter Garden on Monday-, August 25. Invitations have been issued by the Christchurch Football Club to their Red and Black annual ball, to be held in the W inter Garden on Wednesday, September 3.
