SYDNEY MYSTIFIED BY STEAMER'S S.O.S.
(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received July 29. 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 29. The distress calls from the steamer Sumatara off Java are still a mystery in Sydney. The Navigation Department has received no further news. A cable yesterday said that Sydney Radio received continuous S.O.S. calls from the steamer Sumatra, which was reported to be disabled and driving before a gale.
