CLUB ENTERS PROTEST ON TAX INCREASE.
Per Press Association. PALMERSTON N., July 29. At a meeting of the committee of the Manawatu Racing Club it was decided to protest against the proposed increase in the totalisator tax. In Place of the suggested increases the committee urged the Government to the Gaming Bill introduced by Mr Iv. S. Williams, M.P., providing for the legalising of telegraphic investments to the racecourse and the publication of dividends.
