A Radio Novelty.
Dear Sir,—After a hard day’s work I sat in front of the fire last night, turned on the radio, and sat back to enjoy a little music. But—oh, joy! There was no music. Instead there was something far, far better; some students were giving a debate on the influence of mass production on culture. For the best part of two hours we were fortunate in hearing the students’ ‘debate on a subject which the3 r knew all about. So successful was this broadcast that I suggest that it be extended further. Perhaps a debating team from some kindergarten could debate on Einstein’s Theory’’ of Relativity. Or again, perhaps a debating team from the Bo\’s’ High School could argue about the Plunket system. Another suggestion would be to have some third standard boys debate on the influence of marbles on nomework.
Station 3YA is to be commended on this rebroadcast. Could it not arrange such an attraction about five nights a week?— I am, etc., SATISFIED.
