The secretary of the General Post Office advises that the following message was received by* the Wellington radio station at 8.35 a.m. to-day*:— “ Signals intercepted from Adelaide radio at 2.37 a.m. indicate that the steamer Iron Crown, call sign VJDK struck Webb Rock and is sending out distress signals. Her position is 34.59 south, east. At 3.21 Adelaide radio advised all stations that the Iron Crown had weathered the rock and was not then in need of assistance. At 4.3 a m Adelaide radio advised all stations that the Iron Crown had made about a mile and a half westward of the rock and all is clear now.” E m 5!
