WOMEN IN BAKEHOUSE WERE WORKED TOO LONG
(Special to the “Star") TIMARU, July 10. Exception tc* the method adopted by the Inspector of Awards (Mr G. M’Kessar) in taking statements from employees when accompanied by a uniformed constable was voiced by Mr F. J. Rolleston, who appeared for Elizabeth Jenkins, pastrycook, to-day. Jenkins was charged with working three women in a bakehouse in excess of the prescribed hours. A nominal fine of £1 was imposed by Mr C. R. OrrWalker, S.M.
