ACCOUNTANTS' SOCIETY ADMITS NEW MEMBERS.
At a recent meeting of tho Executive Committee of the New Zealand Society of Accountants the following were admitted to membership of the society: —Messrs G. W. C. Drake (Devonport), T. M. Ferguson and L. \V. Leppien (Wellington) and 1,. C. Xisbet (Dunedin). Messrs N. I. Nielsen (Palmerston North) and J. Iv. M'Cahon (Oamaru) were transferred to the status of associate public accountant. Air Arthur Marshall (Wellington) was readmitted to membership. The Vice-Chancellor of the Universitly of New Zealand wrote in regard to reconsideration of candidates* examination papers, and it was resolved to recommend to the council that candidates for the accountancy examination be granted the privilege of reconsideration. Tho committee had before it draft conditions governing the proposed competition for a thesis on the dairy in- ; dustry. These conditions, with minor alterations, were approved, and will later be made available to members.
