DANNEVIRKE SIDE LOSE NORDON CUP CONTEST. Per Press Association. DANNEVIRKE, July 9. Th© first challenge hockey match of the season for the Xordon Cup (held hy Dannevirke) was played here this afternoon between the holders and Wansranui. Wanganui won by two goals to one, alter a keen and fast contest. Wanganui were superior on the afternoon’s I l'lay. V. Latham and J. Tizard scored ' tor the winners, and J. Smith for the losers. Dannevirke have held the trophy for three years. PRIMARY SCHOOLS’ TRIAL. A challenge has been received from the Wellington Hockey Association for the Hatch Cup. at present held bv the Canterbury primary schools’ representative team. Th© suggested date is July 19. A trial match will be held at Hagley Park next Saturday, at 3 p.m., for the purpose of selecting a team to defend the cup.
