PAPANUI BRANCH OF PLUNKET SOCIETY MEET.
The Papanui Sub-branch of the Plunket Society met on Monday at the residence of the president, Mrs L. M. Wilson. The plans for Violet Day were discussed. The Papanui and Woolston sub-branches have decided to combine in one large work and variety stall. Mrs G. Hartshorn offered to organise an entertainment in October in aid of the funds of the Papanui Subbranch. The question of a section for Papanui was held over until a later date. The nurse’s monthly report was as follows: Babies 227, adults 254, older children 41, new case 1, total 543. She had been able to spend more time in the district to the greater satisfaction of parents. Subscriptions and donations had been received during June from Mesdames T. J. W. Shand, W. M Donald, T. Blogg, A. Barwell, A. Shaw, M. Warren, R. C. Jameson, M. Johnston, T. Beer and P. Carey and Miss N. Williams.
