STAFF DANCES.

Joseph Hollander and Sons. The cold weather last evening tempt-* ed many young people from the staff of Messrs Joseph Hollander and Sons, Ltd. to meet at Dixieland on the occasion of the firm’s annual dance. Novelties, including the ever popular snowballs, caused much, amusement and gave a gala appearance to the hall. The music was supplied by the Floyd-Grummett orchestra. The following committee were responsible for the arrangements:—Misses Pessy Hollander, Eileen Fricker, Pearl Manson, Hazel Gorrie, Gladys Mullins, Molly Boy land, Messrs C. Collie, W. Princep, L. The annual staff ball of Messrs T. Arxratrong and Co. was held in the Winter Garden last evening, the BaileyMarston orchestra supplying the music. The attendance was unusually large. Tangerine and black streamers, tall palms, variegated shrubs and gaily coloured paper hats brightened the Jellicoe Hall on Monday evening, when the staff of Messrs W. D. and H. O. Wills (New Zealand), Ltd., held their dance. A portion of the hall was furnished as a lounge for those who desired to play bridge, and dotted here and there were small tables with gaily coloured coverings and bowls of holly. Music was supplied by Seymour’s Jazz Orchestra. The supper arrangements were carried out by Mrs Stevenson. A number of novelty dances were introduced, and the committee responsible for the arrangements were Miss Phyllis Fitz Way, Mr F. Foster Leckie and Mr Herbert Ford. Those present included: Mesdames A.
